Busyok at Elyong

Ito si Busyok at si Elyong. Mga karakter na nilikha ko noong 2008 dahil sa kagustuhan kong maglagay din (sana) ng comic strip sa blog na ito—pero hindi kinaya ng powers ko na alagaan ang sequel ng ideyang ito. Bagaman hindi ko naituloy ang plano, yong karakter naman ng dalawang ito ay nanatili sa isip ko. Si Busyok, isang sosyalerong kalabaw, (lulung) sige nahihilig nalang sa internet, at mahilig sa mga hi-tek na gadget.. Si Elyong naman ay isang batang promdi na ang pag-iisip at gawi ng pamumuhay ay nakapako pa sa panahong dekada otsenta (80s).

Ganito nag-umpisa ang lahat.

Kayamanan sa Lupa

“Kayamanan sa Lupa” yan ang pamagat na naisip ko para sa obrang ito na ginawa ko noong nasa 3rd year college ako. Gamit ang water color (ordinary lang) ay ipininta ko ito sa masters illustration board.  Malaki ang kinita ko nun sa streamer kaya nakabili ako ng medyo mamahaling board.
Tao na nakagapos sa puno. Punong nababalot ng pera at ang dulo ng mga sanga nito, animo’y mga sawa na nakaambang sakmalin ang kahit na sinong maabot nito.

My Hometown

Bongabon,Nueva Ecija ,located 145 km northeast of Manila.
It is dubbed as the Onion Capital of the Philippines for it is the top onion producer of the country.

Harvesting of onion is done during the late March to April. During harvest time, onions can be seen (and smell too) from almost everywhere. Farmers also planted rice and vegetables during rainy season. During planting and harvesting season (rice or onion) the esence of BAYANIHAN is still alive especially in remote areas.

The town fiesta or ‘Sibuyasan Festival’ is celebrated with great fervor
during seocnd week of April to give thanks to the Lord Almighty
for the blessings and for giving the town a good harvest…
